You can't predict which AI company will win, but you can map out the competitive dynamics that will determine how value gets distributed.
The AI Analysis Trap
Every asset manager now has machine learning models scanning news sentiment and predicting price movements. The models are getting better, the compute is getting cheaper, and the predictions are becoming increasingly worthless. When everyone's algorithm is reading the same news and making the same trades, you're just automating the consensus.
The AI tools that actually help aren't the ones trying to predict prices—they're the ones helping analysts process information faster so they can focus on synthesis rather than data collection. Most AI-powered market analysis makes the same mistake as traditional analysis: it assumes the future will look like the past, just with more data points. The regimes that matter most are the ones that haven't happened yet, and no amount of historical data will predict them.
Where the Edge Moved
The analysts making money now are the ones who stopped trying to analyze markets and started analyzing the analyzers. They're watching what retail investors are doing on WallStreetBets. They're tracking how institutional positioning creates reflexive feedback loops. They're studying how algorithmic trading creates predictable patterns that can be exploited.

The analysts who survive are the ones who treat their models as tools for asking questions rather than machines for generating answers.
The market doesn't care about your analysis. It cares about supply and demand, fear and greed, liquidity and positioning. Everything else is just narrative we construct to make randomness feel predictable.
